The WEATHERINFOBOX WIB4S is a digital receiver for weather and Navtex messages. All reports are stored in a vast internal memory. View the forecasts, when you get on board, at the sharp high contrast liquid crystal display or connect the unit to your board-PC or laptop via the USB port. The enclosed PC-software (Windows) enables comfortably to read the received messages, to print out and to put into archives.
The German Weather Service (DWD) transmits sea weather reports, weather forecasts and station messages in English and German language on one long wave and five short wave frequencies. The WIB4S receives these frequencies European-wide. The unit offers an automatic frequency tuning and is choosing always the best available frequency.
The WIB4S can receive NAVTEX messages on 518 kHz (internationally in English) and 490 kHz (nationally, national language) worldwide. The NAVTEX reception will work simultaneously to the reception of the DWD.
Additionally the device contains an air pressure sensor to record the air pressure course for an interval of two days.
